A Message from President Ryan Rippee
Together with you, The Cornerstone Bible College and Seminary has been able to accomplish the work to which we have been called: exalting and proclaiming the supremacy and sufficiency of Christ by training expositors of the Scriptures who love and shepherd the flock. On September 27, even though delayed a bit due to COVID-19, we were able to celebrate our 14th graduating class: Richard Flink, Patrick Lacson, and Maks Vusik.
During the ceremony, Patrick spoke about his time here at the school:
I learned…that preachers don’t have to force Christ into Scripture in order to be Christ-centered in their preaching, because the Scriptures by nature are about Christ. The Scriptures, they anticipate, they fulfill, they allude, they direct or speak clearly of Christ. And because the nature of Scripture is about Christ, the preacher just has one task, and that is to preach the Word. When that is done Christ will be exposed and presented to the people. I’ve experienced it here. I’ve experienced in the classroom. When I sat under John Fernandez’s class on Christology, I would weep with my classmates as John would remind us and say, “Isn’t this Jesus someone who can handle your problems? Don’t you think you ought to tell these people about this Jesus?” Over and over, Christ was presented, and my heart was stirred because it was right there in the text.
This year, by God’s grace, we have seen our largest enrollment in five years, and we are excited about what the future holds for the school. We want to continue growing so that we can have an impact in the Bay Area, Northern California, and around the world for the sake of Christ and his gospel. We want to be the first school students think of for equipping and training in ministry, and to do that, we need your continued support.
Your gift to our “Annual Fund” supports the daily ongoing operations of TCBS and has lasting impact. Regardless of size, your annual gift matters, and your generosity helps ensure that the mission of TCBS will continue. Your gift will go directly toward training the next generation of pastors, missionaries, and Christian leaders for gospel ministry.
You may also give to the “Steve Fernandez Memorial Scholarship Fund.” This fund is designed to assist seminary students with their tuition payments. Pastor Steve dedicated his life to the training of men for pastoral ministry, and we want to increase the opportunity for those called to pastoral ministry, church planting, and missions to receive financial aid for their current and future ministry here in the United States or abroad.
Would you consider giving a gift today to help us finish our year strong? You can give online to both the “Annual Fund” and the “Steve Fernandez Memorial Scholarship Fund” at www.tcbs.org/give or you can make checks payable to “TCBS.” If you send a check, please include your address so that we can send you a tax-deductible receipt.
Your Servant in Christ,
Ryan Rippee
