TCBS coursework 0 of 110 units
Program Summary
Completing the 110 TCBS units below — without the 70 General Education units — earns the Associate of Arts (A.A.) in Biblical Studies and Theological Studies. The TCBS coursework is identical for both degrees. Transfer students must earn their final 24 quarter units in residence at TCBS.
Core Courses
100 units across six areas of study.
Elementary Greek requirements can be fulfilled by completing three Bachelor Credit Examinations.
These three courses may be fulfilled by completing BE 501 at the bachelor’s level and passing three Bachelor Credit Examinations. BE 501 is a dual enrollment class.
Three Biblical Exposition electives (3 units each) are part of this 30-unit area. Record which ones you took.
BE 101 may be fulfilled by BE 505; BE 310 and BE 320 by BE 502 and BE 503; BE 330 by BE 504. BE 502, 503, and 504 are dual enrollment classes open to both college and graduate students.
These are dual enrollment classes and may be fulfilled by their corresponding graduate-level courses taken at the bachelor’s level.
Theology core courses are dual enrollment classes fulfillable by their corresponding graduate-level equivalents (for example, ST 101 = ST 501). ST 302 Sanctification corresponds to ST 603 The Christian Life at the master’s level.
These are dual enrollment classes which may be fulfilled by their graduate-level equivalents (for example, BC 410 = PT 502 Marriage and Family).
Elective Courses
10 units chosen from an approved list, allowing further depth in areas such as biblical exposition, counseling, or additional theological study.
Enter each elective as you complete it. Offerings rotate with faculty availability, so confirm with the Academic Dean that a course counts toward your 10 elective units. Only the first 10 units count toward the degree; anything beyond that is tracked separately.
General Education
70 units completed outside TCBS, required for the B.A. but not for the A.A.
General Education units are earned at a junior college, four-year college or university, or through an approved credit-equivalent exam (CLEP) or online program. Enter the units you have earned in each area. These units are tracked separately and are not included in the 110-unit TCBS totals above. Official transcripts must reach the Registrar before you are eligible to graduate.
